Lantmännen has corporate functions for Economy and Finance, Research and Development, Human Resources, Sustainable Development, Legal and Compliance, Communications and Branding, Lantmännen IT, Mergers and Acquisitions and Business Development and Supply Chain. The corporate functions drive their respective key issues forward and support Group Management and the divisions in Group matters.
Economy and Finance is responsible for the Group’s economic and financial management and reporting, it also includes the unit for controlling and Group strategy. The staff function also has a finance department and a Group tax function. It is also responsible for risk management. A Shared Service Centre provides assistance and relieves the burden on the Group companies through joint financial management.
The Owner Relations department is responsible for Lantmännen’s communication with its members and owners and devotes itself to our 25,000 or so owners in 20 districts. Lantmännen's 20 districts are important links between the members and Lantmännen and are the fundament of member influence and ownership. Lantmännen Research and Development runs the strategic work on research, innovation and business development. This work is carried out in collaboration with Lantmännen’s companies, divisions and corporate functions. The department also runs Lantmännen’s Research Foundation, which funds research in the areas of food, agriculture, energy and green materials. Read more
The HR department has the strategic responsibility for Lantmännen getting access to the right skills among employees and managers. The employees are the foundation to help us achieve our business objectives in both short and long term – we grow our people and our business together! The HR department's work includes a strategic and operational responsibility to handle, develop and implement policies, processes and tools for areas such as employer branding, recruitment, talent and career management, performance management, equality and diversity, skills development and leadership development, work environment, health, employment law, employer issues and compensation and benefits. The Sustainable Development department is responsible for developing strategies, managing the work and supporting Lantmännen’s businesses with expertise in sustainable development, to protect and strengthen the Lantmännen brand and provide commercial value in both the short term and the long term. The Legal and Compliance department assists all Lantmännen businesses with legal advice from its own or external legal experts (under central framework agreements). The department handles all legal issues relating to acquisitions and disposals, intellectual property rights, disputes and major business negotiations. The department also works to help the businesses acquire knowledge of legal structures and to establish decision-making processes to support decision-making and business. The Legal department also acts as the Group Board’s secretariat.
The department is also home to Lantmännen’s Compliance function. The main task of the Compliance function is to support and facilitate the implementation of procedures for monitoring and compliance with regard to anti-corruption and competition legislation, as part of Lantmännen’s business ethics compliance programme. This work includes ensuring that advice, policies, processes, training and tools are available to prevent, detect and respond to illegal or unethical acts. The Compliance function also supports and facilitates compliance with data protection legislation.
The Communication and Branding department is responsible for building and developing the Lantmännen brand into an asset for the whole Group, thereby enhancing Lantmännen’s competitiveness and supporting its business objectives. The department has both strategic and operational responsibility for the brand, marketing communication, sponsorship and external communication, PR, media contacts and social media. The team is also responsible for the development of digital channels, as well as external, market, customer and consumer understanding and coordination of the Group’s survey activities.
In close cooperation with the business areas, Lantmännen IT works to develop stable, reliable and cost-effective IT solutions, which enhances the Group’s competitiveness and supports its business objectives in line with the adopted strategies.
The M&A and Business Development department is responsible for acquisitions, mergers and divestments as well as business development for the whole of Lantmännen. The department helps all the divisions and business units to identify and carry out activities within M&A, as well as business development projects. Examples of business development include joint ventures, additional acquisitions, strategic partnerships and licensing arrangements.
The department initiates, manages and supports change processes within the entire Lantmännen supply chain. The work includes the purchase of products and services for the Group, supply chain development between different Lantmännen companies and project and change management in production, planning, logistics and procurement, in order to maintain cost leadership.
