We also want to contribute to a more sustainable food consumption through development of products and ranges and to increased knowledge and consumer awareness by disseminating information about nutrition, health, wellbeing and the environment in different ways.
The Lantmännen cooperative is founded on the knowledge and values that our owners have built up over generations. The 25,000 Swedish farmers who make up Lantmännen process the grain produced on Swedish farms and run the business in a way that ensures sustainable and thriving farming. Our members and owners are business partners and they share the Group’s profit through dividends, while they also have a shared responsibility to manage the planet for future generations.
Quality, safety and traceability are key parts of our work. The green sprout we put on our packaging stands for responsibly produced food. Food that we work hard to produce in a sustainable way, from field to fork. We have well-developed systems to ensure quality and food safety, with many checkpoints along the production chain.

Our work to take responsibility from field to fork contributes to sustainable food production. There are three major challenges to address here, which are common to the supply of food all over the world.
Food production accounts for a large proportion of climate impact. To make sure we are still able to have productive agriculture in the future, we need to reduce our climate impact, especially in farming, but also in processing and transport.
Nearly 9 billion people and still only one planet. To produce good food for everyone, we need to be as efficient as possible, make smart use of resources and minimize waste. At all stages from field to fork.
What we eat and how we eat are important. Both for our health and for the environment. A better understanding and more informed choices are needed in order to promote a lifestyle that is healthy and sustainable. In other words, eating habits that makes us feel good and which the Earth can support.
Based on business intelligence and stakeholder dialogues we have identified a number of issues that are of particular interest to many of our customers and consumers. These issues mainly concern sustainable farming, and our primary and end products.
